Apologies for the mild dose of Narcissism, but I often sketch portraits of others so I thought I’d have a go at a self-portrait for a change.

It’s one thing to draw others and really see them, imperfections included. It’s quite another to draw your own. Having said that, I quite like imperfections. It’s what makes us human and interesting.

Usually, as a test to see how realistic my sketches are, I ask people to identify the person in the. Sketch. My own mother had no idea this one was supposed to be. I guess I should either be concerned about my drawing skills or my aging mother’s eyesight (or both).
