Photo of the day (Roche Abbey in Spring)

I’ve probably taken hundreds of photographs of Roche Abbey over the years (if not thousands), and it’s one of those places I never tire of capturing.

Some places leave an indelible mark on you.

For me the abbey evokes childhood memories of school visits, cross country runs over the fields of Laughton and picnics spent idling away my time reading a book.

Happy memories, all.

Roche Abbey

That is what I see from the picture: a kaleidoscope of past and present.

Images are never just images alone – we take individual meanings from them that are part of us.
